Terms of Service

These Terms of Service provide important information about how Insight OT Consultancy operates, including the expectations, responsibilities and professional boundaries that support our work.

About Insight OT Consultancy.

Insight OT Consultancy provides occupational therapy assessment, consultation and education for children, parents and educators navigating complexity in childhood.

Insight supports families and professionals to better understand a child’s development, participation, behaviour and learning, and to identify practical ways to support the child within their everyday environments.

Insight does not provide ongoing therapy or intervention programs.

Services may include:

  • developmental and functional assessment

  • parent consultation

  • educator consultation

  • school or kindergarten observation

  • written reports or summaries

  • guidance and practical recommendations for supporting a child’s participation in everyday life.

 

 

Nature of Services.

Insight services are consultative in nature.

Recommendations are based on:

  • information provided by parents and caregivers

  • information provided by educators or other professionals (where consent is given)

  • observation of the child where appropriate

  • professional clinical judgement.

 

Insight aims to provide thoughtful and practical guidance; however outcomes for a child may vary depending on many factors, including the child’s environment, support systems and implementation of recommendations.

Insight does not guarantee specific outcomes.

 

 

Scope of Practice.

Insight OT Consultancy provides services within the professional scope of occupational therapy.

 

Insight does not provide:

  • ongoing therapy sessions

  • behaviour therapy programs

  • intensive intervention programs

  • crisis services.

Where appropriate, Insight may recommend that families seek further support from other professionals.

 

 

Use of Reports and Recommendations.

Reports and written summaries prepared by Insight are intended to support understanding and collaborative planning for the child.

Reports may be shared with educators, health professionals or other support providers with parent or guardian consent.

Insight reports should not be altered or partially reproduced in ways that may misrepresent the content or recommendations.

 

 

Parent and Guardian Responsibilities.

Parents or guardians engaging Insight services agree to:

  • provide accurate and relevant information about their child

  • inform Insight of any significant changes that may affect the consultation

  • provide consent before Insight contacts schools, educators or other professionals involved with the child.

 

Insight relies on the accuracy of the information provided when forming professional opinions and recommendations.

 

 

Privacy and Confidentiality.

Insight OT Consultancy is committed to protecting the privacy of children and families.

Personal and health information is collected and stored in accordance with Australian privacy legislation, including the Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles.

Remote Observation and Parent-Provided Media.

Parents may choose to provide photographs or videos of their child to support observation and assessment.

 

Any media provided will be used solely for the purpose of understanding the child’s development and participation and will be stored securely in accordance with Insight’s privacy practices.

 

 

Professional Registration.

Insight OT Consultancy services are delivered by qualified occupational therapists registered with the:

 

Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA)
under the
Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.

 

 

Fees and Appointments.

Fees and appointment arrangements will be outlined prior to the commencement of services.

 

Payment is required in accordance with the invoicing terms provided.

Insight reserves the right to reschedule or decline services where appropriate.

 

 

Limitation of Services.

Insight services are designed to provide understanding, guidance and professional insight.

 

Implementation of recommendations remains the responsibility of parents, educators and the child’s broader support team.

Insight does not replace medical advice or other specialist services where these are required.

 

 

Changes to Terms.

Insight OT Consultancy may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Updated versions will be published on the Insight website.
